[9:55:04 PM] eric.couper: what role do you each of you play?
[9:56:19 PM] eric.couper: We aim to create a Community-Based Information system (CBIS), based on open source technologies that can be used for written, oral and photographic information for supporting economic and social development within rural areas. Information is a productive resource to which access is often limited by the poor and women and contributes towards poverty. The CBIS would buttress African rural communities’ information needs in community development aimed at achieving the UN Millennium Development Goals in several sites across Sub-Saharan Africa.
